How many kinds of potatoes exist? And how many kinds of pears?
Here is a game-workshop dedicated to the biodiversity of season fruit and vegetables, which children can explore by means of various creative techniques on paper – letterpress/typography, live drawing, collage – with the purpose of creating an individual graphic work and a group installation. The starting point is the active observation of a “museum of biodiversity” where they can study a selection of season fruit and vegetables; later, they use graphic expression as a tool to stimulate curiosity at the table, to learn how to recognise new shapes and tastes and to identify differences in more familiar ones.
obelo is the name of the collaboration between two freelance professionals, Claude Marzotto, designer, and Maia Sambonet, visual artist. They share a working space where they cross and combine their research on the production processes of images and deal with designing in the field of editorial graphics and visual identity. Experimentation with tools and languages becomes the subject of their common teaching activity in workshops for adults and children.
